Some fucker has stolen a bunch of tools out of my (locked) garage:
- Full set of ratcheting ring-spanners
- Dremel and accessories
- Crimping tool (and 100s of spade/ring lugs)
- 2 multimeters
- Large set of screw/hex/torx bits
- 1/4″ socket wrench
- Laser straight-edge
- $5 vice grips (why?)
They also nicked a 5th Gen iPod from my car, and god knows what else. I have no idea when this happened as I haven’t used my tools in a couple of weeks. The garage door shows no signs of tampering, and has only been left unlocked once… so either somebody with very good timing got lucky, or else they have a key…
More. Furious. Anger.
On the bright-side, I gave the bike a wash today and Warwick has taken a bunch of photos of it at his father’s workshop… I’m yet to see the result but I’ll post them as soon as I have a copy.

I received my new cellphone today, a Nokia 6210 Navigator. My old phone (a 6110 Navigator) was involved in an unfortunate accident involving several litres of water and a certain Fisher and Paykel laundry appliance.
The new phone, while otherwise very slick and appealing, does not allow me to:
- sync calendar and contact entries from my Mac
- use turn-by-turn navigation (without a yearly subscription, paid to Nokia)
For the privilege of losing these features, I need only pay $175!
Vodafone (actually Marsh & McLennan, the insurance provider) did not give me the option of choosing another phone (yes, I asked).
My old phone performed both these duties flawlessly, so if you have a 6110 Navigator but you don’t sync to a Mac and you don’t use the voice navigation, I’d love to discuss the possibility of a swap.
Additionally, my MacBook Pro’s battery has swolen up to twice its original size but is not covered under the battery replacement scheme. Furious. Anger.
Ok I’m done
Update: I have finally found an iSync plug-in that actually works with the 6210 Navigator. Its a commercial product that cost around $20.00 AU, but a small price to pay to make the phone half useful to me.
